JANUARY 2002 NEWS - Hey everybody, we hope you all had a happy holiday season. Things have been going great with us. We recently played our first "show" - an intimate set in Kameron's apartment to a crowd of about 20. Everyone had a great time and we can't wait to play our first real show, which will be on the 26th of this month in Connecticut. We'll also be playing our first show back in Jersey on the 22nd of February. Check the shows page for details.

In March, we plan on recording 3 new tracks with Dante Desole @ Grey Midnight Studios in NYC, so be prepared for some new mp3s headed your way.

This month in grooming news: John has a man-beard. Rumor has it that he's going to shave soon, so come to the shows to see it before it's too late.

-John, Kameron, Warren, and Dan.

NOVEMBER 2001 NEWS – Hey everybody. Times are changing and winter is coming. We hope that this new season finds you well. Our deepest sympathies go out to everyone affected by the September 11th tragedies.
As many of you have heard, both Jay and CJ had left the band earlier this year, when they could no longer make RedRover a priority. In March, our good friend and former band mate, Warren MacDonald, joined as our new drummer, filling the empty spot left by Kameron. Kameron is now on bass. This was probably the best decision we?ve made as a band to date. The two of them spent the entire summer learning how to play their new instruments, in-between auditioning guitarists and writing new songs with John. After nearly four months of auditions, we?ve found ourselves a lead guitarist. His name is Dan and asking him to join was the other best decision we?ve ever made. We hope you like him as much as we do. Things have been going great and it?s wonderful to feel like a whole band again.
There have been some times during the past few months that have been difficult and discouraging. We would like to thank those of you who have shown us support during this period of inactivity. It?s really helped to keep us motivated. We?ve been hard at work writing new material, and we plan to begin playing shows again in a month or two. It?s been such a long time since we?ve played out and it has made us realize how much we love and miss doing this. We can?t wait to see you all again.
If you haven?t picked up our split CD with the DharmaBoys yet, it?s available through Decibull Records and you can pick it up online at Interpunk.com. Hope to see you soon.

-John, Kameron, Warren, and Dan.

MAY 2001 NEWS -
A few months ago, Jay had announced his decision to leave the band for personal/ financial reasons. He's at a point in his life where he has had to make some difficult choices about his future, and through this he came to realize that it would be nearly impossible to partake in RedRover's plans of extensive touring. He's currently pursuing a career in web development. Jay has been with us since the very beginning of RedRover and it's hard to see him go. We are proud of him and wish him the very best of luck in the future. We will forever remain great friends.

More recently, CJ has announced his departure from the band because of his decision to return to school in the fall and pursue a degree in music business. CJ has been with us for almost a year now and we've shared some great times with him. It's also very hard to see him go and we wish him nothing but the best.

A few weeks ago our good friends, the DharmaBoys announced their break-up. They have been an inspiration to us and it's a shame for the scene to lose one of its most talented bands. We will all miss them. We hope to soon see Antonio and Scott back in action.

In light of all this, we want to make it clear (despite all the rumors) that RedRover is far from being broken up. The two of us have been making music together for more than five years now and we will continue to do so as long as we are doing it together.

A few weeks ago, our good friend and former band mate, Warren MacDonald has joined us to fill one of the empty positions. We're very excited about having him back with us. Unfortunately we are still short one lead guitarist.

We will be holding auditions for guitarists from May 21 - May 27. If you or anyone you know would be interested, please have them get in touch with us by calling Kameron at 973.956.0982 or emailing him at kameron@redroveronline.com.

-John and Kameron

P.S. - We're still trying to figure out how to make this site work properly with Netscape and Macs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

EARLY SPRING NEWS 3/19/01
New Songs -
Although you haven't seen us playing many shows lately, much is happening in Roverland. We are gearing up and getting ready to rock out all summer long. We've been writing some new songs, and started demo-ing them @ Hinchkraft and Grey Midnight Studios.

Street Team -
Jarrett & the Decibull team have been hard at work, promoting the new CD to zines, ezines, and radio stations all over the east coast. They are also currently putting together a street team to help with promotion. Don't tell Jarrett we said this, but if you join up you will probably get lots of free stuff. We need your help. If you are interested in joining the Decibull Records street team please call Decibull at: (973) 292-5310 or send an email to info@decibullrecords.com.

Help! -
It's really hard to get stores to stock a record from a new band. We need your help. We need anyone and everyone to go into your local record shop and ask for our split CD with the DharmaBoys. At this point, the dude (or dudette) in the store will probably say, "We don't have it". So then you say, "Why the hell not?" followed by, "Can you get it?" Then go down the street to the next store and do the same thing. Then come back the next day and do it again. You can also call the store and ask for it. We wish we could have a contest like Drive-Thru Records and offer you a free DVD player, but we are poor, so we will give you hugs and kisses instead. Thanks.

Website Updated-
The interview from the Beacon (William Paterson University's newspaper) is up on our press page. Kameron finally put up some new pictures too. (He's still got a bunch more to go) So keep checking back. Also look for our interview from Destroyed By You. And we promise that the website will be fully functional for Netscape users and Mac users soon. Sorry for the inconsistency.

REDROVER ONLINE 2/28/01
As you can see, the new web site is finally up. Tell all your friends, and tell them to tell their friends, and so on, and so on...

We've gotten a bunch of press lately. You can find an interview with us in the new issue of Destroyed By You (#3). The zine comes with a sampler that includes our song "Samantha".

William Paterson University's newspaper, The Beacon, gave a kickass review of the CD release show. Check back next week. We'll post it up here as soon as we get it scanned.

THE CD RELEASE SHOW 1/29/01
The CD release show was an awesome success. It ranks as one of the best shows we've ever played as far as we are concerned. Thanks to everyone who came, everyone who played, Ezra, and everyone who bought the CD. And yes, the CD is finally out. Decibull records online is temporarily down for re-design but you can order the CD right here for now. Check your local indie stores too.

The Amnesty international show was a sucess too. Check out Stillewelle if you havn't already. CJ turned 19 on Sunday. <sigh> Seems like just yesterday he was struggling to tune his guitar. My how we've grown.

DECEMBER 2000/JANUARY 2001: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US
Hey kids. Its been a little over a year since we played our first show as the band RedRover. 127 rehearsals, 6 guitars, 48 packages of strings, 3 gross of picks, 15 cases of Poland Spring, more than 700 packs of Parliaments, 1 tour, 49 shows, 15 states, a new radiator, 3 oil changes, and 17,359 miles later, here we are. We've had a lot of great times and made a lot of great friends. Thank you.

RedRover has signed a contract with Decibull Records. Decibull will be releasing the long awaited RedRover/DharmaBoys split CD (yes, we finally have a release date) on January 13, 2001. You can pre-order the split (along with all RedRover merch) at www.redroverone.com or at www.decibullrecords.com
The split has also made great strides as well. We are nearing a deal that will finally get it released. Releasing a record is ridiculously time consuming, but the final preparations are in the works, and we look to have this out by... well, we will let you know. We aren't making any promises. Let's say, by the end of the year. Expect a CD release show featuring bands that were instrumental in making this split happen.

Coinciding with the release of the split will be the "Decibull Records Winter/Spring 2001 Sampler" featuring songs by RedRover, the DharmaBoys, (also recently signed to Decibull Records), FaceFirst, and Folly. The sampler will go mostly to promoters, radio stations and zines, and kids at shows, so if you want one get in touch - cj@redroverone.com or info@decibullrecords.com.

BACK TO SCHOOL 9/26/00
Autumn has arrived, and for some of us, with it comes school and certain responsibilities. School is almost as boring as work. We had a great summer though. We met and played with some awesome people, made new fans, and tormented CJ as much as possible. We love him. Our new buddies, Ultimate Fakebook, swung through the area twice, and we got to play with them each time. Both times, we all partied at Kameron's after the show, and had a great time drinking and laughing until the sun came up. We cannot wait until they play the east coast again.

Our Ron and Fez.com appearance has been pushed back once again. Our song, "Drive" has been played on the show a few times as part of a segment called "Smash or Trash." From what we've heard, its been getting a pretty good response, and our website has been racking up hits due to the publicity. We cannot thank Ginny enough for hooking us up with this opportunity.

Lastly, plans are in the works for a three-week winter tour beginning immediately following Christmas, and ending half way through January. We plan on hitting the following areas: Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. If you know anyone who can help us out with a show, e-mail Jay. Until then, we will be playing several shows in the northeast, as well as a few in lovely New Jersey. Keep checking the website for more updates.

SPLIT / TOUR / RADIO. COOL. 8/7/00
Hey everyone. We want to thank everyone that came to the Ultimate Fakebook show we put on July 12th. The show was a great success. Ultimate Fakebook are the greatest bunch of guys and we can't wait until August 22nd, when we get a chance to play with them again (in Wayne with Thursday, Penfold, and the Dharma Boys). Big thanks go out to Ezra, Mark and the John Drinkwater productions crew for the Weston show. Once again, thanks to Little Chris and also Caitlyn, for helping us so much with merch.

CJ is working out great, and Redrover has decided that he is going to stay on permanently after tour. We will be writing new songs with CJ throughout the fall in hopes that we can release a full-length album before next summer.

Speaking of albums, a lot of changes have been made for the upcoming split with the Dharma Boys. It has been renamed "As funny as it may seem, it really isn't that funny at all". The Dharma's are done recording and will be mastering on August 26th, so the split will now be out in October. We are sorry for the delay. But c'mon, you didn't REALLY expect it would be out in August, did you?

We have been asked to appear as guests on 102.7 WNEW's "Ron and Fez" show on September 8th. We will be in the studio from 11 PM to 2 AM, but will most likely be heard around midnight. We will be playing live. Please tune in for that one.

The time has arrived for Redrover's first real tour. We will be playing four shows across the Midwest, coming home for 3 shows and heading up to the northeast for a weekend. We're fortunate enough to be playing with such great bands as Midtown, The Stereo, Firebird (ex-Braid), DMS (ex-American Football), The Casket Lottery, My Life Denial, and 5 Star Theory.

The next month is going to be a busy one for us. We have lots of dates out of state as well as lots of Jersey dates. Keep checking the shows page for lots of info.

HERE IS THE STORY... 7/7/00
Chris and REDROVER have parted ways for personal reasons. We still love each other a lot, and are going to remain friends, but it will hopefully be best for everyone this way. Chris has a career to work on right now, and that is the easiest way to answer the question of why he left. It's true that Chris was planning on staying until the end of the summer, but things just didn't work out. We will definitely miss having him around.

REDROVER is now playing with CJ of Enough is Enough fame on guitar. I bet you didn't know he played guitar either... (We found out 2 weeks ago). He is a really awesome kid and we are super glad to have him playing with us. He will definitely be our guitarist for the summer and hopefully more. He's extremely dedicated, and judging by how many shows he puts on, he is probably one of the hardest working people in the scene right now. But be warned, you can feed him after midnight, you can expose him to bright light, even put him in water, but never ever call him Carl James Fredrick. ***

We have some huge shows coming up. Jay is spearheading the organization and promotion of the show for next Wednesday, July 12th at the Wayne Firehouse on Parish Drive. It will include Epic/550 superstars, Ultimate Fakebook, as well as Lanemeyer's first show in like 3 months, with their new guitarist. Humble Beginnings, us, The Dharma Boys, and Enough is Enough will also be playing. Our next show will be in Norwood, and then we have 4 shows in Wayne, the last of which will be opening for WESTON, HOT ROD CIRCUIT, and LANEMEYER! Then we will leave for two small tours, one of the Midwest, one of the southeast, with some more Wayne shows in between. We are finally playing lots of hometown shows, please come and support us. Thanks to Ezra and Mark of John Drinkwater Productions for the Weston Show. It is a dream come true for some of us.

The split with the Dharma Boys is coming along slowly, but it should be out by the middle of August if all continues going well.

We would also like to apologize for anyone who came to see us at The Cove on June 23rd. We left with 3 other bands and moved the show to a backyard in Wayne because we had a disagreement with the staff of the cove that couldn't be resolved. Again, we sincerely apologize to anyone who came to see us. In the end, we took Endless Mike (great guys on tour from CT) back to Wayne so they would get to play. They rocked. Punk rock karaoke followed and we all had a great time. Endless Mike even got gas money from an appreciative crowd. Thanks to Kaitlyn and Mrs. Lennox for opening their home (and their pool).

SUMMER IS HERE 6/16/00
Hey REDROVER fans (and people that ended up on this list by mistake.) Time for an update on the latest happenings. We just completed another weekend out of state, where we had the opportunity to play with River City High, Shady View Terrace, Smackin' Isaiah, andOrange Drop Kid. Orange Drop Kid shot a video in Binghamton for MTV Brazil. It was insane. Last weekend we played our first ever acoustic gig (minus Kameron). We were pleasantly surprised by how well it went. This Wednesday, we played an end of school year bash at Skater's World with the Lonely Kings, Humble Beginnings, Whippersnapper, Dharma Boys, and Enough is Enough. If you haven't seen Enough is Enough yet, you gotta get to more shows. They are so much fun to watch.

We have finally finished recording, mixing and mastering our 5 songs for the split with the Dharma Boys. The songs included on it will be Samantha, Johnny Alter Ego, Going Friday, Drive, and Every Day. We are excited for this release, which will hopefully have a release date sometime in late July / early August.

New MP3s of our WDKU radio show are up on the site right now, and select tracks from the split will be up shortly. Go give a listen.Speaking of the website, we need more pictures. Help. If anyone has any, or takes any, can you please send them to john (john@redroverone.com) so that we can get them up? We will definitely give you photo credits and maybe even a date with Eric from Outline.

John is back from Philly. He lives in NJ now. That's a good thing.

We have a lot of shows planned for the summer, and we are planning tours for August. Looks like we will be hitting the midwest and the southeast in August, in support of the new split CD, the first leg will be with the Dharmas. The second will hopefully be with Outline.

And last, but not least, a thank you to all who continue to support us: Kimmers, Meg, Klaudia, Jennie, Kerry, Scottie, Lil' Chris, and our friends in bands. The recent postings on skanjska.com and other places have been motivating as well. Thanks. Hope to see you all at the shows.

RADIO, SHOWS, AND A SPLIT CD 4/25/00
Hey kids, our first 3 shows back have been a blast! We got to play with Alkaline Trio and The Jazz June, and we got to witness the Dharma Boys play a kick ass show, and sign autographs in Garfield. A lot of cool things have been going on. We're busy booking our summer tour, the fist half of which will be with the DharmaBoys. Our new
van had a nervous breakdown on the way to a show in Binghamton, NY, so we never got to play there. Sorry. We did, however sign to Artful Dodger Records in Connecticut, home of Connecticut pop-punk kids, Endless Mike. We look forward to playing with them really soon. Our first legitimate release will be a split CD with the Dharma Boys on Artful Dodger. We'll be going to Nada studios next week to record. We are also going to be on Drexel University radio on Friday, May 5th, from 9am to 12pm. Check it out on the web via real audio at www.wkdu.org- or, if you live in Philly, tune it in or come down to the station. We will be playing live and giving interview.

Congrats go out to Midtown for their ongoing success. They deserve it. Also, congrats to our friends Pillow, The Youth Ahead, Stick Figure Suicide, and Day 19 for their local stage selections at the Asbury Park Warped Tour. We'd also like to wish Saves the Day a speedy recovery.

Thanks to Mike and everyone in Pittsburgh, Punchline, Shady View Terrace, Ezra @ John Drinkwater Productions, CJ and Enough is Enough, Scottie, Brien, Jeff, Katie, Tori, Molly, Kristen, and the other diner girls, Rob, John Bunch of Sense Field for nearly decapitating Jay in a freak accident, Folly for putting out an awesome EP, Meg, for wearing sexy outfits to sell our merch, and even the kid who called John a "Dwarf Fag" in our guestbook (the rest of the guys think it is hilarious.)

Hope to see everyone soon.

WE'RE BACK 3/31/00
Hey everybody. Much as we hoped, spring has proven to be a new beginning for REDROVER. After much thought on everyone's part, Chris decided to stay with the band, and the guys welcomed him back with open arms. We have prioritized our lives, and priority number one is the band.

Crisis averted: John's gotten his academic situation under control. Nine weeks left until John gets out and becomes a full time punker.

We've got lots of great stuff happening, like some new shows in Pittsburgh (with Chicago greats, Alkaline Trio), Vermont, and a number of shows coming up in New Jersey. We've also got label interest for our upcoming split with the Dharma Boys.

Many thanks go out to Shady View Terrace, Scott Dharma, Ezra, Mike in Chester, Ben in Vermont, CJ and Enough is Enough, Paul and Paid in Full/Malibu Records, Richard and Drive Thru (for being nice to everyone on IM), Jennie Jen for being a great friend to us all, Mr. Meyer for putting his van up for sale (we love it), Brad (At.This.Moment) for the radio show, Midtown for coming home, and everyone who has signed our guestbook and told us they missed us.

We've written a bunch of new songs and just bought a 1991 blue Ford conversion van. We are now "tour ready," and from now on, we ride in style. We're all really excited to get back out and play, and to see all of the fans and other bands that we miss so much. Thanks for being so supportive. You all rock.

WINTER CONTINUES 2/11/00
Hello everyone. Due to extenuating circumstances, we've had to cancel all our shows in February. Our recording dates have been pushed back, and the March tour will be postponed until this summer. We should be back in action in about a month or so. Hopefully spring will be on our side. Stay tuned for further information. We appreciate your patience and sincerely apologize to all the promoters and our fans for any inconveniences.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 1/21/00
Man is it freezing outside. We've been pretty busy lately. We have been fortunate enough to play with some great bands, such as Saves The Day, A New Found Glory, River City High, Saturday Supercade, Lanemeyer, LWL, and Smacking Isaiah, just to name a few. Thanks to Ricky, Neil, Russ in New Bedford, and Mrs. Randall for letting us put almost 1,000 miles on "The Blue Shark" (her mini-van). We also want to thanks Chris Humble for letting us play in his basement the other night. Whippersnapper and Lanemeyer were amazing.

We are booking a nine-day South East tour for mid-March, and getting ready to record at Nada Studios on Feb 19th and 20th so we can finally get this 7" out. Also be on the lookout for a 2 song sampler.

There are a couple of new shows added to the site as well as new links. We will be playing NYC on Feb 22 with Lanemeyer, Dharma Boys, At This Moment, and Welcome Home Travis. The show is on a Tuesday Night and we play late. We will be offering high school students excuse notes so they can come see us and skip school the next day. Please sign our guestbook and send us mail. Thanks to Dean at Fat Rat Press for the awesome work on stickers and buttons.

'TIS THE SEASON TO BE REDROVER 12/19/99
Happy Holidays. 'Tis the season for RedRover to be thankful, because we've had a lot of great things happening to us lately. We have gotten on some pretty amazing shows considering the lack of time we have been in the scene. We have been meeting a lot of great people, and we will be recording and touring soon.

Many thanks to Little Chris, Eric Outline, Ricky Bomb Shelter, Annie PunkturePoint, Klaudia & Antonio MafiaPlanet, Jennie, Kaitlyn, Rob Humble, Jon and Arben Folly, Obi, Neil StickFigure, Jenn, Ross, Ben, Flipside, 20 Minutes To Nowhere and as always, the DharmaBoys.

We are heading into the studio in late February for the split 7" with the DharmaBoys, which is going to be called "Haledon's Finest". Come March, the 7" will be on it's way, and we will be heading South. The road awaits...

HOME SWEET HOME 12/4/99
We now have 4 shows under our belt. Our first show in New Jersey was awesome. The crowd was great. The bands were great. The Dharma Boys rocked. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. We've got a whole bunch of shows booked and we're going to be pretty busy for the next two months. The split 7" with The Dharma Boys looks like it's closer to becoming a reality. Merch is in. We now have t-shirts, buttons, stickers, CDs. Get some. Check the Merch Page. Thanks to those who came to the first of hopefully many West Paterson shows.

VERMONT 11/20/99
We just played our first show in a place called Willmington, Vermont. We were cold, wet, lost, and sick (Kameron had pnemonia), but we played our hearts out like the little troopers we are. The turnout wasn't so hot, but it seemed like everyone had fun. We know that we did. Flipside Rocked. We can't wait to finally play in NJ this weekend. Hope to see you there.

DEMO 10/31/99
REDROVER has just recorded with the help of Planet Antonio from the Dharma Boys. Tentatively it will be released as 4 song CD/Cassette Demo. Want one? Check out the Merch Page. Until next time . . . over and out.

WELCOME 10/21/99
Hey everyone, welcome to the new and official REDROVER web sight. We will be playing our debut shows on November 20th in Vermont, November 26th at Christ Church in Summit NJ, and November 27th at Skaters World in Wayne, NJ. We're pretty psyched. Check the shows page for more info on that. Flyers will be circulated beginning this weekend. Sorry about the lack of eye candy on this site as we are still working on it. We will be putting pictures up next week. We are having fun practicing and writing songs, and can't wait until we play shows near you.

We are also currently recording a four song CD demo to be released in early November. Aside from that, there is no other news to report. REDROVER would like to thank the guys in Flip-side, River City High, and Midtown for their support. Go check them out! That's all for now . . . over and out.
